Guitarist Sam Wilson will explore a historic snapshot of women guitarists, unearthing some of the “disparity between the history we’re told and the history that exists” - She Shreds Magazine. From Elizabeth Cotten to Emily Remler, we’ll celebrate each of their stories and contributions to music.
Sam was Inspired by Fabi Reyna, the founder of She Shreds Magazine to put this workshop together and pay tribute to these guitar players.'
Sam Wilson is a Canadian guitarist living on the east coast in Nova Scotia. Playful yet introspective, her melodic style reflects her love of jazz, improvised and instrumental music stemming from African American music traditions. She writes for and leads a solo guitar and small group project that varies from duo to quintet.
