Do you want to learn more about waste and the ways that Edmonton and Canadian businesses are working to reduce food and plastic waste? Are you curious about the psychology behind consumers' behaviors towards wastefulness? Zero Waste Edmonton has paired up with different Edmonton and Canadian organizations to bring you a fun and educational experience focused on waste reduction! Join us for a virtual webinar to learn more about the impacts of food and plastic waste, ways to reduce it, and businesses leading zero waste initiatives you should know about!

Hear from representatives from two Canadian organizations and a scholar on how they manage and reduce food and plastic waste daily. Josh Dominguesthe CEO of Flashfood Company, will talk about how his company helps local retailers reduce their food waste while feeding people affordably. Michael Kalmanovitch, the owner of Earth's General Store, will speak about how his store’s refilling program aims to reduce plastic waste. Saurabh Mukesh Rawal, a University of Alberta Ph.D. candidate in Consumer Behavior, will discuss consumers' psychology regarding wastefulness.

All speakers will bring different perspectives on waste reduction and offer tips to reduce your waste! Check out our Instagram @zerowaste.yeg or Facebook @edmonton.zerowaste for more information on the speakers.

The event will be held through Zoom, and the link will be available after you register for the event.

The event is free and open to the public! However, you can contribute to our mission to alleviate hunger, rescue food, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by donating directly to our website: https://zerofoodwaste.ca/. Your donations will be used to purchase sustainable containers to transport excess foods we rescue and plan and execute future educational campaigns. Your donation is greatly appreciated!

Many door prizes and useful tips to take home! We are looking forward to seeing you there!
