Shifting in Place is a free visual poetic workshop made for BIPOC, immigrant, & refugee youth of all writing levels.
About this Event
This workshop is a place to explore the translation spaces between drawing to writing and writing to drawing. You will be encouraged through a fun journey of curiosity and reflection with me!
We will talk about process and also learn to think between the mediums; drawing something prompted by words and writing something prompted by drawings. We will weave in and out of the nuances of ecosystems in a fun and interactive way! There will be time to learn from each other and to share in a safe space.
We will be exploring movement in our lives through migration, shifting mindsets in new places, and finding meaning and joy in the places we create. Bring a sketchbook, pencil, art supplies and an open mind!
